Okay, here's more. Extensive testing at home shows that I cannot effectively 
use BoldOn and BoldOff codes where I'm also inserting DPSpool font codes. In 
such cases, the bolding is ignored. For instance, if I insert

        <244>FNew Times Roman<244><244>P13<244> 

as a Printer Code at the start of a character string, and 

        <244>FCourier New<244><244>P12<244> 

at the end of that character string, those codes work fine. However, it I 
surround all that with BoldOn and a BoldOff codes (whether inserted as <157> 
and <156>, or inserted by DP itself, the bolding is ignored.

If I remove the DPSpool codes you see above, and just insert DP BoldOn and 
BoldOff codes, it works fine.
