Hi all,

Thanks to everyone for your very quick and informative responses.

Following Don’s posting I downloaded VDOS and have installed this. Now all I
have to do is to work out how to get it to run DP, but that should be easy
enough.

I only have one DP database which I need to run these days. This is an
application, the original of which I developed in 1986, which contains all of
my business information over the past thirty years. The thought of trying to
change that database to use anything other than DP is more than a little
daunting, so I’m definitely sticking with DP. I only run this database on my
own desktop as I’m a sole trader and have no employees, so there are no
networking issues. Also, I rarely print from the database so anything I need
to print I can always save to disk and then import into WP, which is my
favourite word processor. Call me old fashioned if you like, but it’s worked
for a long time.

Yes Jacques, I’ve come across the Raspberry, though I’ve never used one myself:
I prefer to use a standard computer and fairly large screen. Mostly this is
because of my low vision, which is deteriorating even further these days. The
ZoomText magnification software which I use can also speak screen text to me,
so I’ve got all I need there. Changing to using a different form of screen
would be difficult and would require a good deal of learning for me.

Right, let’s get into that database so that I can once more access all the
records which are there.

Thanks again to all.

Cheers,

Brendan.
