Running DP from the start of our logistics and transportation company in 1994 we are currently doing year-23 version. Improving the requests of our 40 daily heavy users from 5 sites all over Europe. Running the 250 truck of www.boekestijntransport.com. Complaints over mouse, sparkling UI and more… They all vanish after a few weeks of practical experience. Nice to have you on board. My company runs for 25 years on a DP database that I wrote myself in the early years of the company. To this day, it runs very smoothly, no maintenance needed. It runs on Windows 10. (Thanks to Jos Schaars) My 8 account managers who use the database almost every single office minute have never ever said anything negative about it. They are between 20 and 32 years old. Revive DP! As I’m seventy-one I’m allowed to say that! I used to work in IT up until the mid 1990s and in the ten years before my business changed I had a lot of success in developing DP applications for my customers. One firm of real estate agents stuck with me for twenty-two years simply because DP never let them down. As I said in my previous posting, these days I still use DP for my own business database and I can see no possibility of that ever changing. Lew Bastian did a wonderful job when he created DP and we have a lot to thank him for. So go for it Dave and develop your own applications. With DP there is virtually nothing that can’t be done.
