You probably want to "unfork" your repo from the gitpan repo so that yours looks like the "parent" repo when people view it on GitHub. You can contact GitHub staff to do this for you.

Or nearly closed. I have received a git pull request from
Karen Etheridge for a few improvements on Makefile.PL. I was waiting
for bigger mistakes to fix and release a new version to CPAN. And
actually, I forgot about Karen's improvements. Now, maybe I will
release a new version with just Karen's improvements. See:

You might want to investigate Dist::Zilla, since it will make sure all of this stuff is done properly for you.
