Hi

We went through this issue a while back ourselves.....

There is nothing stopping you 'porting' an X server (say nano X) to the DM355
apart from the effort involved. This 'effort' may cost you more in development
time/cost than paying for an existing commercial package.

You could go the QTopia route - there are other embedded platforms that have
done this, touch screens as well.

We ended up with PEG (http://www.swellsoftware.com) and Trinity were so
impressed, they bought the company ;-)

We have Opera running on DM6446 incidentally.

Subject: Graphics Applications on DM355

Hi Every One

I need to create Graphics applications on DM355 board with MontaVista Linux.
EVM came MontaVista Pro 4.0.1 Evaluation version.

Example application like will TouchScreen based Adress Book and selecting some
butons etc and we also plan to use Opera (or similer) webbrowser for broswing.

What will be the best possible solution for this?
is GTK+ Ok?

MontaVista Says they Have Graphics Tools in Pro edition, but doesn't have in
the eval version. Do we need to get Full Licence Version to enable X Windows on
DM355 EVM board.

Thanks
Krishna Reddy
