Agreed, don't bother making up a proper board and so on. I have had much
success with such advanced rapid prototyping techniques as:

- Jamming wire into connector sockets
- Lifting unhelpful pins of EVM components
- Tacking extra connections between legs of EVM chips

Etc, etc.
