Are you sure that this 32-bit wide PBBPR register can safely be written using two separate byte writes? The idea itself is OK: we used "wr32 00000020". The value 0x20 is according the latests DM6446 errata chapter 2.1.2, and it did prevent Audio and Ethernet TX underflows.
