I'm not sure about the Davinci (I haven't tried yet). But on other projects, using the Gumstix processor, I was able to transfer the kernel using Uboots Kermit serial protocol. I would think you could do the same for U-boot.

Could someone tell me if its possible to update the U-Boot and the Kernel through the serial download. My target board does not have an Ethernet port and it would not be possible to me to do a tftp on it. So the only possibility is JTAG, and I'm interested in onfield upgrades. Please note, I'm not referring to the booting Linux from UART- but to update the U-boot and the Kernel present in the NAND through UART. Do we have to do some tailoring in the U-boot coming with the standard dvevm. Any other pointers are greatly welcome Cheers, Deepak Shankar V DISCLAIMER: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- The contents of this e-mail and any attachment(s) are confidential and intended for the named recipient(s) only.
