I'd just add a comment that the alternative for INT 29 is getting a DDR2 EMIF interrupt, in case anyone gets interested in handling such things. The once-per-second IRQs (first test case!) don't work. A quick glance at docs suggests this RTC doesn't offer such IRQs, just alarms on hour/minute/day match.
