(Or I can persuade my hsqldb maintainer to add the path himself to 1.8.0.7, depending on how long 1.8.0.7 takes). But I do have my workaround already anyway.... "But this only helps all OOo users which know the same maintainer." ... or use a release of a distro containing 1.8.0.8 and OOo depending on that version :). Nothing for users to care about in this case :) We then of course need to change the configure check to check for the change, too. But, assuming you have the patch already, I'd still vote for 2.3 for the reason that the patch in the source is there then can be used as reference. (Or attach it to this issue) fs: When is 1.8.0.8s release due?
