I have to agree with the question of how you plan on taking over DBD::Pg if your no prel programmer. That has got to be the craziest thing I ever heard. I hope that someone else takes it over, I will voluntier, as I am a perl programmer that uses DGD:Pg on a regular basis. I cant afford for someone who is not a perl programer to take over this module, who also does not want to subscribe to the DBI driver mailing list.
Jan-Pieter Cornet already volunteered last Wednesday:
What I know of DBD drivers, I too think it would be madness for someone to have to maintain these without a thorough knowledge of Perl _and_ DBI. Probably well intended madness, but still madness.Date: Wed, 16 Oct 2002 12:54:13 +0200 From: Jan-Pieter Cornet <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Jeffrey Baker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: DBD::Pg up for sale On Sun, Oct 13, 2002 at 11:13:06AM -0700, Jeffrey Baker wrote: > If anyone is willing to take over development of DBD:::Pg, please > feel free. I'm willing to take the job if it's still available. I have already submitted some patches to DBD::Pg in the past, so I'm somewhat familiar with the code. My company (XS4ALL, who is willing to supports me in this) uses DBD::Pg in production, and I'm usually the one installing it anyway. Also, I can probably ask advice from fellow Amterdam.pm member and DBD::Unify veteran H.Merijn Brand, and my soon-to-be colleague Jos Boumans also implied that he could offer some assistance. Just my 2 euro cents worth...
