You'll need more that just libclntsh.so.  You need to install the Oracle
client to be able to compile, it's freely available from Oracle.

I'm trying to build DBD::Oracle for oracle 8i on IRIX 6.5.  Is there
anyway
to get libclntsh.so without having to install Oracle?  Oracle is already
set up on another machine, I just need to build the driver to connect to
it.
