Hi, You definitly need a driver package on HP-UX 11 to connect to your M$-SQL Server. I've read in previous posts that unixodbc might me a good solution (http://www.unixodbc.org).
>From what I've read from unixodbc you'll need a odbc-odbc bridge, like the one below. http://www.easysoft.com/products/oob/main.phtml For the HP-UX side Install unixodbc (+ odbc-odbc-bridge) install DBI from CPAN install DBD::ODBC from CPAN On the W2K Server install the odbc-odbc-brige That should do it, although I never done it Cheers +rl Adam Schwartz wrote: > > Hi, > > I need to write a perl script that will run on HPUX 11, > make a dbi connection to Microsoft SQL server running on W2000, > and create a file on the HP using the rows I've retrieved. > > Can anyone help me out on this? > > I'm not sure what perl packages to install? > > Do I need to install some things on the W2000 server as well > or does dbi on the HP do it all? > > What is the role DBI::Proxy and/or ProxyServer in all of this? > > thanks > adam
