Hi All, After attempting to install both the Oracle 8.1.7 server and client software on my RedHat machine, I have given it up as a bad job. It's just not happening. I've had technicians scratching their heads over it and having no luck.
So, on to plan B. What I want to do now is to run Apache on my local machine, and have it using DBD::Oracle along with DBI to connect to a separate Oracle server, running 8.1.7 that I know works. Only trouble is, the DBD::Oracle module just won't install without Oracle software on the machine. All I get are errors saying that no Oracle software has been detected. Surely there must be a way round this? Has anyone come across this problem before? If you can help in this matter I will be eternally grateful! Thanks Adam
