Adam, This is a pretty common and well documented problem. I had similiar troubles myself when trying to install Oracle on RedHat 7.1. I found this website to be helpful; http://staff.in2.hr/denis/oracle/817install_rh72_en.html.
If that site doesn't help just trying search on RedHat 7.2 and Oracle 8.1.7 in google. -Joe On Wed, 2002-03-20 at 09:35, Adam Gent wrote: > Hi All, > > After attempting to install both the Oracle 8.1.7 server and > client software on my RedHat machine, I have given it up as > a bad job.
