DBD::Oracle works with either Oracle 8 or 9. I built a copy on my Linux laptop with Oracle 9i and the tests were successful. SQL*Net for Oracle 8 can connect to 9i instances, so if you keep your client machines on 8, you can continue to use the existing modules without change. If you need a PPM compiled with Oracle 9 for ActivePerl, perhaps Jeff Urlwin can comment on availability; he maintains a private PPM repository at ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/DBI which includes DBD-Oracle. Ilya Sterin also had a repository, but I don't know its URL. See http://dev.isystek.com/dbi/fom-serve/cache/13.html for information about building and installing modules for ActivePerl. -- Mac :}) ** I usually forward private questions to the appropriate mail list. ** Ask Smarter: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html Give a hobbit a fish and he eats fish for a day.
