It can be made to work I used this to get it working http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg20816.html
It's a bit of a pain to do, but will work if you can't get the oracle installer to work to give you a full install. You are right Tim, it turned out the Sys Admin had only installed the "Instant Client". Once we used the developer install, everything worked out OK. Should I be able to install with the instant client only? What made me think that DBD::Oracle 1.15 would not work (or would need a hack) was this post: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=DBD::Oracle+1.15+oracle+10g+linux+twea k&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&selm=aofi20lvmogulfe3o8kabf3g6meenj560u%40 4ax.com&rnum=1 But now that I look at it, it seems to simply be a suggestion for improving the install process. My problem is that it says my ORACLE_HOME is not valid, > even though I can run SQL*Plus. Sounds like it's using the new Oracle Instant Client. Should work fine. You can ignore (disable) the ORACLE_HOME error. You may need to 'fiddle around' a bit but we can't help more without specific information (see the README for what we'd need). Tim.
