Dial-up is practically obsolete. What would it take to get you a high-tech connection?

I know I have not been posting lately, but I feel really put down by some of the people who I call friends who keeps reminding me of their ability to download music and how good high-speed is, when I have to contend with dial-up. I feel really left out of the fun that comes with downloading music. But can't explain the feeling of inferiority I feel when those I call my friends keeps boasting of their high-speed, comparing it with my dial-up connection. If I only the single service provider in my country could grant me a Christmas wish? But that is wishful thinking of course. Each time I call I keep getting excuse after excuse and they are always the same. These mailing lists are known to have people who pray a lot, so could someone please pray for me?
