Certainly some time, but it does simplify setup, reduce vulnerability to problems like memory leaks, provides any security improvement xinetd can provide. Also, there are some connection pooling tools out there. In short, just because there can be a performance hit is not a reason not to allow this functionality into dbmail. I think it would be a welcome and useful addition. Matthew
