I'm taking note. I'm still sorting out the mess in _ic_fetch, but I'll
take a look at it. However, this may well have to be deferred to a
later iteration that will deal with i18n.
Ilja, can I *please* start using glib, pretty please? Nothing fancy
for now, just some string handling cleanups I don't want to reinvent
myself.
Expect a first branch landing later next week.
I still like the idea of using glib. I know that some people (e.g.
Aaron) are against using it. I love not having to deal with all the
lowlevel string handling and memory allocation and deallocation.
We should not introduce glib as a dependency in 2.0, but it might be
appropriate for 2.1.
But.. this doesn't answer your question yet.. I'm in favour of using
glib. We've been through this before, but I'd really like to hear from
anyone why we *should not* use glib.
