I solved that one already. It's in the branch, but the debian packages
contain a seperate patch.

Maybe we should put up a vote on the issue...
I have not seen any objections yet. So Paul, I'd say: go ahead and use
GLib. We'll have to work out how to support in the autoconf files
though, but that won't be too much of a problem I guess.
