I've been using milters a lott, mostly snertsoft filters from the days they where still free available. milter-sender i.e. has options I haven't found in any other mailfilter. Although the postfix sender verification does a good job too. > > So I did some googling: > > Postfix is a modular design where sendmail is this big single piece. > As far es I remamber Postfix is by far faster, I think like 3 times. > People say that postfix is better security wise. Yes, postfix has better scalability. However, sendmail solves this with sendmailX a complete rewrite. > Being a newer package it doesn't have any or as many inherited > vulnerabilities from old versions. That's odd, one would think a old package has had the maximum amount of debugging and vulnerabilities patched. New code, new bugs. > It is easier to configure. > And I have not found a single reason why Sendmail could be better then > Postfix. > Me neither, except for the availability of good milters. Kind regards, Marc
