Yep, but don't worry. This was an easy feature to add, and I think it is
very useful. I wrote the code yesterday, will commit to SVN later today.

An important aspect of doing this was determining when a connected has
logged in fully. Each daemon has a different way of indicating this state.
Gave me some good ideas for how to make it better in 2.3 development.

  Hi,

if there is one timeout, it should be sufficient. If it works. Jorge =
said it doesnt, aaron said it does.=20
my server is dropping the connection:

   # time telnet mx 110
  Trying 192.168.1.20...
  Connected to mx.hierling.loc.
  Escape character is '^]'.
+OK DBMAIL pop3 server ready to rock =
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
-ERR I'm leaving, you're too slow
  Connection closed by foreign host.

  real 5m0.191s
  user 0m0.000s
  sys 0m0.024s

so it is working, no need for a second timeout... only my 0.02=80

  regards Martin
