Hello Max.
Thanks for your answer. I am using spootlight to recognize toponyms inside
text.
Very often it is short text (like City, Country) but sometimes it is longer
article.
So I need: 1) text to be tokenized 2) match strings in many forms
When using lookup service I don´t always get the answer:
http://lookup.dbpedia.org/api/search.asmx/KeywordSearch?QueryClass=place&QueryString=republica%20dominicana
and when using spootlight with your example
http://spotlight.dbpedia.org/rest/annotate/?spotter=LingPipeSpotter&disambiguator=Document&confidence=0.0&support=0&policy=whitelist&text=REPUBLICA%20DOMINICANA%20%20is%20a%20nation%20on%20the%20island%20of%20Hispaniola
Dominican Republic was not recognized.
Anyway do you thing normalizing text to lower case can change the results?
I didn´t get an error with my query when using 'republica dominicana'
instead of 'REPUBLICA DOMINICANA'
Regards
Piotr
