I'm not sure I understand exactly. I don't see any VIAF information in the
owl:sameAs values for any of my test cases (e.g. Albert Einstein). I am
able to return results in both live.dbpedia.org/sparql and
dbpedia-live.openlinksw.com/sparql for dbpprop:viaf. It seems that only a
small fraction of the wiki pages using authority control have the
dbpprop:viaf, dbpprop:lccn, etc. present in the DBpedia Live dataset. Does
it just take a long time for the delta to get extracted from Wikipedia? I
might just be confused about the extraction process/timeline. While DBpedia
Live includes some pretty recent additions (e.g.
http://live.dbpedia.org/page/2013_Xiamen_bus_fire) to wikipedia, some
relatively distant changes have not been reflected, such as the authority
control for persons (e.g. the VIAF on Kanye West which was added sometime
in late 2012).
Thank you for taking the time to respond; it's a really interesting subject
and I'd love to understand it better and hopefully add some value to the
community.
