I installed a system using beta2, and encountered the same problem with exim4-config. The solution was to change my /etc/hosts, which contained merely
127.0.0.1 localhost to 127.0.0.1 myhostname localhost I have since installed another system using beta3 and the resulting /etc/hosts was the same. I didn't change any DEBCONF_PRIORITY settings (I didn't actually know about this setting at all), and went through the various network configuration dialogs, entering a hostname, etc. Whatever the issue and solution is, an /etc/hosts in such a problematic state shouldn't be the final product of the installer, whatever the DEBCONF_PRIORITY of the install.
