The only comment is that any additionnal code may be risky as we currently are in a process of stabilizing the whole d-i. It may probably be regarded as a new feature so is not to be included before the next release. I suggest you add your script in the package it belongs but unactivated....so that some of us can test it locally before the relevant package is modified.
