My first try with it and quite satisfying. I used the German translation to install. A problem with the UI: I first forgot to plug the power cable into the HD and of course it was not recognized. The installer ignored not finding any HDs and the partitioning dialog was quite confusing to me. I couldn't figure out how to proceed (since the HD was missing, so were the necessary menu options) and everything appeared a bit odd. I had to go to the command line to look around and finally realize my mistake. After correcting that and restarting the installation process the partitioning dialog made sense. It would be good to warn the user that no HD was found (and perhaps not go into the partitioning dialog since there's no point anyway), or rework the dialog so it is understandable that there is a problem (and its nature). I over-eagerly filed this problem as bug# 266806 for debian-installer. If this is too much feel free to delete this bug report. I ran into the already described problem where installation of the base system failed with "ln: /target/usr/bin/awk exists", which I resolved by deleting /target/usr/bin/awk. After that the installation completed without further incident. HTH & have fun, Luca -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
