Package: aptitude
Version: 0.2.9.4
Sometimes aptitude just hangs while loading the cache. Until now hitting
Control-C and restarting it usually solved the problem, but now there is
nothing to do.
I have no idea of why this happens, and I am not able to reproduce it
reliably (except now, of course, as it always hangs).
I am using Debian GNU/Linux 3.0, kernel 2.4.17-k7.

It's been five years since this bug was filed, and I still don't
know of any cases where aptitude hangs during startup. Feel free to
reopen it if it's still happening to you.
