Package: fontconfig
Version: 2.2.2-2
I use firefox as my browser and run testing. I currently have
mozilla-firefox 0.8-9 installed.
I've seen a problem with a few sites recently most notable of which is
www.bluez.org which looks like http://the.earth.li/~huggie/ff-bluez.png
i.e. you only see the first word on a line for some odd reason.
I get this when I have the following in my .fonts.conf:
<match target="font">
<edit name="antialias" mode="assign"><bool>false</bool></edit>
</match>
If I move it out the way it looks fine well it doesn't because
antialiasing looks rubbish on my monitor for some reason but at least
the text is all there.
To be honest I don't know if this is a bug in fontconfig per se. When I
run mozilla-firefox with GDK_USE_XFT=0 in the environment it also
"fixes" it but it makes firefox look differently ugly.
I'm a bit at a loss as to how merely wanting to turn off antialiasing
could cause this though.
Any clues gratefully received.
Simon
