I just downloaded all the libgpm2 debs and compared them and you are
right: the amd64 build (the one I uploaded) has a different md5sum on
changelog.Debian.gz than all the other builds.

After a bit of investigation, I found the culprit: my .bashrc sets
'GZIP=-9n --rsyncable'.  And sure enough: when I gzip debian/changelog
with and without --rsyncable, I get the two md5sums.

...But I build with cowbuilder.  I did not expect cowbuilder / pbuilder
to pass my $GZIP into the chroot.  Oh well, I learn something new.  So
I've edited my cowbuilder wrapper script to 'unset GZIP'.  I'll verify
that this works, then re-upload a fake-bin-NMU as you suggested.
