 Yes, the old and new packages are co-installable. The package
transition serves two things.
The first one is don't leave the old ones behind, but this can be done later.
The second was my compilation attempts of build-dependent packages.
Can't recall the exact problem and/or those may be addressed by
sourceful uploads of those packages. Thus if you insist so, I may
revert the package transition if that would help a lot. I'm not at my
Linux box, don't know how many packages are in affect. I recall three
or four only.
