No, it doesn't mean *in general* that update-rc.d remove should be run. The case of samba is special, since it split up the sysv init script into several scripts but kept the old one as convenience wrapper (I don't know any other package doing it that way). So this is very specific to samba and only in a case like that. In general, if you add systemd support to your package, you just keep the sysv init scripts as they were and simply add the systemd .service files (while making sure, the names match). -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
