Basically every foreigner living in Germany is eligible for using an eID, so about 15 million people. I wouldn't call them a minority. The idea of the eID is to enable citizens in Germany deal with authorities online instead of having to go to a local government office. Hence, the eID and AusweisApp is useful to everyone living in Germany, not just Germans. > > > It contains a man page, but this man page is provided in English only. > > > > The manpage was contributed by a Debian Developer which probably explains > > this. > > Yes, this was not meant as an offence, on the contrary, I quite > appreciate the existance of the man page. > > > > However, translated man pages are provided in manpages-l10n. > > > Especially the German translation would be helpful for this package, > > > hence I propose to "suggest" it. > > > > Since I assume you have provided that manpage, have you considered sending > > it upstream? Well, the app itself is officially provided in several languages, so I'm not seeing why they also shouldn't maintain manpages in these languages if the community provided the,. > Thus, especially for such a leaf package like AusweisApp2 it is > sensible to maintain it in the manpage-l10n pool and suggest the > manpages-de package so the translation becomes available. Technically, it's a leaf package but that doesn't mean it's not important. It's the official package you need for electronic government services in Germany. So, it's not really irrelevant. > In the end, this is a wishlist bug for a "Suggest: manpages-de". Sure, but I always prefer sending improvements upstream so that all distributions can profit from them rather then confining them to Debian. Adrian -- .''`.
