Actually there already exists such a sanity check in update-fontlang which not only prints a message but also exits with an error (only used for update-updmap at the moment, though). It just has not been updated to TEXMFSYSVAR=/etc/texmf. I have submitted a patch (rev 1695). Since this change would have catched this bug, I will also close the bug in the changelog. cheerio ralf -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
