Package: libgnomevfs2-extra Version: 2.18.1-2 When this package is installed, libgnomevfs gains extra abilities. However, currently gstreamer0.10-gnomevfs has no way of knowing this (see GStreamer bug 350477 [1]) and therefore if GStreamer has already registered the GnomeVFS plugin, it won't be re-registered with the newly-supported protocols.
A temporary workaround could be to touch /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstgnomevfs.so, if it exists, on installation, so GStreamer would re-register it. [1] http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442246 and http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350477
