Yes, see the bug I referenced in the original bug report. It contains the
developers' discussion on addressing this flaw properly. As you could see,
it's not trivial.

to make gstreamer0.10-gnomevfs depend on libgnomevfs2-extra.


As I said, touch the file *only if it exists*. It's a temporary workaround.

We should
also try to make this registry system-wide in the future, so that we can
trigger a rebuild.


I guess the GStreamer guys should deal with this. What you're saying does
make sense but I'm not sure GStreamer currently supports it.


Today it's a problem for HTTP, tomorrow it will be for DNS-SD which is
getting more and more widespread, and whatnot. Where do we set the line?


Right now, I'm just addressing specific packages which provide optional
shared objects for GStreamer plugins.
