Sorry about my slow response, I've had exams this last couple of weeks, but I'm on holiday for Easter now!
I'll try and have a look at this problem and see if a) I can reproduce it on my system b) if it then disappears with an svn build. As for packaging, I've already made the required changes to use the new cmake build system. There may be one or two more tweaks needed after the recent svn reorganisation, but shouldn't be major. Talk has started on the dev mailing list about a release candidate, so we may be getting close to a new release.
