Well, I don't think the bug should be closed. I cannot reproduce it even if I
create a directory with a name containig german umlauts and import the files
from there, so there seems to be something special with your setup. I agree
however, that we should submit a bug upstream.
I also have a clue how to fix this bug, so be prepared, I'l hopefully send you a
patch sometime so you can rebuild inkscape and test for me, since I don't know
yet, how to reproduce the bug properly. Do yu by any chance use a different
character set for your filesystem than you use as a user?
