Sorry for making noise, but the problem disappeared after 1. installing xfe-themes and xfe-i18n, 2. logging out and launching xfe in a xfce-environment, where it started within a window.
After this xfe launched also in my lxde-environment with window-frames. No idea what's the reason, but now it semmes to work properly. klaumi -- Klaus-M.
