Please don't tag upstream unless you've confirmed an upstream bug (typically, developers make this determination and tag accordingly). > On the fairly new eeepc 1016P, wireless cannot be switched off with the > hotkey. > As I don't know how to switch wireless off with another method, I don't know > whether switching on would work. In all likelihood the issue is that eeepc_laptop module is not loaded because you have a newer WMI BIOS. The eeepc_wmi module, unfortunately, is not present in the 2.6.32 kernel in squeeze. The good news is that you can use the acpi_osi="Linux" boot parameter workaround for now, as documented on our wiki: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/Models#ACPIdifferences That allows the old eeepc_laptop module to load on systems with newer WMI BIOSes. With luck, then the hotkey will work. Ben -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
