While in general, I agree we should be moving towards eeepc-wmi, for
Squeeze, on the whole we would break more hotkeys than we would fix at
this point, using the backport you kindly provided for 2.6.32. Hence the
desire to find some other workaround that does not involve intervention
by the user of some sort. Things will look much better in Wheezy, and we
(Debian Eee PC team) will look at providing improved eeepc-acpi-scripts
and get the eeepc-wmi module into backports with all keys working during
the Wheezy development cycle.
