Package: dpkg Version: 1.15.8.11 Severity: wishlist When dpkg is forced to re-create deleted conffiles with the --force-confmiss option, it prints the following warning for each missing conffile:
Configuration file `%s', does not exist on system. Installing new config file as you requested. Since we are managing our configuration files with a custom script, we have configured dpkg on all our servers to use --force-confmiss by default - we want dpkg to always give us the package manager defaults, and our script then takes care of modifications and deletions. The warning message is pretty annoying in this configuration - e.g. when we install acpi-support, we get over 500 lines of warnings that only obscure the important messages.
