1) Hint: Don't buy unsupported bleeding edge hardware. Check first. It's not hard. X4.1 supports lots of cards that work perfectly well. If you want bleeding edge, go with Nvidia and deal with their close-sourceness. Its a model I see that works with the goals you obviously have. (bleeding edge hardware working on a distribution that doesn't just build->ship everything just after it comes out.) 2) People don't have infinite time. Branden has a large range of responsibilities that I think would make some others greatful of the time he spends volunteering his valuable time to the project. I know my time isn't free. Many of us could most likely find at least a couple side-contract-jobs if we wanted to and just make money constantly. Some of us are here for Free software. Balancing work, family, and the 'habit' is hard. The fact Branden has found a great balance that doesn't make his wife walk out, lose his job, or cause him to go completely insane (due to lack of sleep or other things) is a good thing, and we really don't need to be fucking with that. I've been toying with my balance these days and can attest to the lack-of-sleep factor. In any case, can we stop trying to drive people out of the project and get back to actual work?
