Do you know whether the RC bugs that lead to the removal have been fixed meanwhile? See also: http://bugs.debian.org/301561 I'm lacking the time to package it myself atm. But I would consider sponsoring it if someone comes up with a decent package and the upstream quality is acceptable, too.
