Was it really necessary to solicit this feedback by putting out a Press Release, which has been picked up by non-Debian media and even by corporate entities running Debian? > For the squeeze release (and future releases), we are considering a > time-based freeze, Noted, that this is a consideration. > Based on feedback of the community on the plan to freeze in December > 2009 and the ambituous Release Goals we set for ourselves, we are > revisiting the decision to freeze December 2009. Now you are revisiting the decision to freeze time-based. So you first decided on freezing in December and then considered freezing time-based? This sounds like backwards. Please explain the rationale chain that led to these events. I am kind of missing an explanation for Ubuntu's role in this mess^wevent. Since Mark Shuttleworth seemed to know about your consideration (see his recent interview with derstandard.at) well before the rest of the world including your fellow developers was informed, I'd like to inquire about these as well. Is it your intention to sync up with Ubuntu's LTS releases, and why? What advantages do you expect from this sync, and which disadvantages have you decided to accept for having Debian stable synced to Ubuntu LTS?
