Hello Jonas, Am 17.05.2026 11:26 schrieb Jonas Smedegaard:sorry if I come across as dismissive,No, this is fine. My situation is kind of delicate. ;)I am not a DM and know nearly nothing about it but try to provide a tool for the DM workflow.I can only encourage every DM (and others) to comment on the current state of "spdx2debian"and the REUSE standard behind it.
Where can I follow that discussion?
The tool is of course invented to solve a problem. But it also was my goal to somehow encourage a discussion and progress in this copyright-nightmare DMs have to deal with. That is why I forceto be 100%-SPD-compliant, to make people think about SPDX.I am sure "spdx2debian" will be kept as an exotic/edge tool in Debian for the next years. But it might encourage some persons and projects to get their license and copyright situation cleaned up. I took over a 17 year old upstream project (Back In Time) myself and also have to deal with this nightmare. I don't want to load that sh*** on DMs. It is IMHO upstream responsibility and every upstream maintainer can be glad to get included in the official Debian repo.Regards, Christian
