Bruce Byfield has put together a team of 10-15 people to work on a new Debian manual based on the Progeny manual, which would address (IMHO) a real need the project has for linux beginner and Debian-newbie documentation. The Progeny manual was GPL'd last month. The current incarnation is at
http://archive/progeny.com/progeny/debian/doc The plan is to convert it into an open-source format, it's looking like DocBook ahould be the choice. We'd like to set it up in the Debian cvs area. I'm not a DD yet, but have had cvs write access for boot-floppies and webwml for the past several months. I'd be very happy to see this manual become a part of Debian, and invest the work required to help whip it into shape. It's the kind of manual we need if we're going to ever become available for the average user-on-the-street. Do you know who to talk to in order to have the project hosted by Debian? Progeny will do it, but I sense some reluctance, so I think we'd be better off with an alternative. -- Bruce Byfield 604.421.7177 [EMAIL PROTECTED] "I respect kindness to human beings first of all, and kindness to animals.
