------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-10-05 11:54 ------- I have tested the image http://people.debian.org/~lunar/i2o_support-i386-mini.iso. It puts right entries in /etc/fstab, but at boot time it fails, leaving you with the option to control+d to continue, or enter password to maintenance. This error is the same as I get when installing from debian edu dvd. The difference is that /boot is mounted correctly without having to edit /etc/fstab. This is what syslog says at boot: Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: I2O subsystem v1.325 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: i2o: max drivers = 8 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: SCSI device sda: 71065600 512-byte hdwr sectors (36386 MB) Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 0 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: scsi 1:0:8:0: Attached scsi generic sg1 type 3 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: sda: Write Protect is off Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: sda: Mode Sense: b9 00 00 08 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: SCSI device sda: write cache: disabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: SCSI device sda: 71065600 512-byte hdwr sectors (36386 MB) Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: sda: Write Protect is off Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: sda: Mode Sense: b9 00 00 08 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: SCSI device sda: write cache: disabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: sda: sda1 sda2 < sda5 > Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi disk sda Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: scsi0 : Adaptec AIC79XX PCI-X SCSI HBA DRIVER, Rev 3.0 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: <Adaptec AIC7902 Ultra320 SCSI adapter> Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: aic7902: Ultra320 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, PCI 33 or 66Mhz, 512 SCBs Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:04.1[B] -> GSI 27 (level, low) -> IRQ 20 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: scsi2 : Adaptec AIC79XX PCI-X SCSI HBA DRIVER, Rev 3.0 Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: <Adaptec AIC7902 Ultra320 SCSI adapter> Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: aic7902: Ultra320 Wide Channel B, SCSI Id=7, PCI 33 or 66Mhz, 512 SCBs Oct 4 15:26:39 dhcp152 kernel: i2o: Checking for PCI I2O controllers...
