I dare say that if you are concerned about safety of the bootup process, you should consider yaird as alternative to initramfs-tools to generate your ramdisks. The above would not happen with yaird: The generated ramdisk would be hardcoded to using RAID to reach your root filesystem. Initramfs-tools is flexible and _mostly_ does as expected. Which is great for some situations (like moving harddisk to different hardware) but not all (like running a server as stable as possible). - Jonas - -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist og Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ - Enden er nær: http://www.shibumi.org/eoti.htm -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFIOWDpn7DbMsAkQLgRAjgwAKCn3Mll6hrVElTFgDoji0nnhTD8hQCeIG1K QWK3hHrmizzYQxd2xcFw2a0= =38Pe -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
